Fashion Facts
The retail manufacturing industry is the second most polluting industry on Earth, second only to oil.
The fashion industry employs 1/6th of the world’s population, about 250 million people, and has very little regulation.
Lack of regulation in the garment industry allows for the pollution of the environment and the use of sweatshops and child labor by many of the world’s largest brands.
Once children in the sweatshops reach adolescence many end up in human trafficking rings.
If all name brands selected to increase wages by one percent of profits, 125 million people would be taken out of poverty.
