About

Designer Hovey adored her mother's style when she was young. Visiting tailors & jewelers with her mother, as well as being surrounded by eclectic furniture made by her interior designing father set the stage for inspiring early years. While her studies were in music & library science, Hovey has been connected to making jewelry since she was a teenager. Studying the essential design elements from various ethnic styles, Hovey Lee fuses this with a California sensibility for a fresh, stylish look.

Why Eco and Ethical Design

Hovey's collections are inspired by both design forms and by world cultures. Hovey Lee strives to offer thoughtful, inspired and meaningful pieces that are personal and timeless. The principles of socially and economically responsible business are integral to Hovey Lee's makeup. Through working with fair trade vendors, eco-friendly material producers, and manufacturing in Los Angeles, Hovey Lee supports people, the planet, and human rights through their designs.

About Our Materials

Hovey Lee uses gemstones that come from fair trade companies that only source their stones from environmentally and socially-responsible mines. In addition, Hovey Lee continues to use components taken from vintage jewelries and recreate new designs with recycled findings and new finishing.

How We Process Our Textiles

Hovey Lee is a strong proponent of Fair trade standards, upholding labor conditions and workers’ rights, environmental protection, product integrity and supply chain transparency from gemstone mining to cutting to processing. They continually respect basic human rights around the world and work to protect the environment by conserving energy and recycling. They manufacture in Los Angeles, upholding their fair trade principles in the US as well.

Hovey Lee uses 100% reclaimed brass, recycled gold and silver, and in-house plating techniques. With their jewelry being designed and produced in Los Angeles, California, they also source gemstones from fair trade companies in India, Peru, and Mexico.
