When a purchase is made it is a “vote” for the practices of the companies we buy from. This “vote” can protect our health, the Earth, and human rights or be a “vote” that compromises our health, pollutes the environment, and perpetuates the use of sweatshops and child labor.

Did You Know:

• The retail manufacturing industry is the second most polluting industry on Earth, second only to oil
• The fashion industry employs 1/6th of the world’s population, about 250 million people, and has very little regulation
• Lack of regulation in the garment industry allows for the pollution of the environment and the use of sweatshops and child labor by many of the world’s largest brands
• Once children in the sweatshops reach adolescence many end up in human trafficking rings
• If all name brands selected to increase wages by one percent of profits, 125 million people would be taken out of poverty
