DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Some combination of...

• Web application development experience, using some sort of MVC framework.
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL, SQLite, or PostgreSQL
• Work experience developing software in a business environment, preferably with Linux/UNIX
• Experience developing browser add-ons
• Experience building an E-Commerce site
• Experience building or working on a online referral network

RESPONSIBILITIES

We're an early stage startup, you'll be doing anything and everything you're up for.  But here's a start...

• Work to design and develop our current and future web applications
• Develop browser plugins for Mozilla/IE/Safari/Chrome
• Build out and maintain internal tools
• Design and implement database schema

SKILLS

• Javascript, preferably with experience writing object oriented JS, as well as comfortable with jQuery.
• Familiarity with Backbone.js or another Javascript MVC framework strongly desirable.
• Some sort of dynamic server-side language.  Ruby prefered, Python/PHP accepted and Perl tolerated, since after all TMTOWTDI. :)
• Strong verbal & written communication skills

EDUCATION

BS/MS Computer Science or related field preferred but not required

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

We’re looking for a front-end developer with a bent towards design and a passion for building industry shaking applications. The ideal candidate will have a history of great project execution along with previous experience in a start-up.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop edgy and attractive Web site that will appeal to the Eco-conscious market
• Assist in UX and Graphic design for the web site
• Help with designing and building an inobtrusive browser plugin for eco-conscious shoppers

Learning computer science and looking for a chance to apply it to the real world? Want to gain valuable industry experience at a fast-moving startup, out to change the world? As a development intern for Fashioning Change you'll pick from a range of projects involving web development, browser extension development, website scraping, and use of APIs and datafeeds. During your project you will learn cutting-edge skills and help shoppers find do-good alternatives to top name-brand fashion lines.

JOB SUMMARY

The Product and Sourcing Coordinator will steward and coordinate new relationships with eco and ethical brands and see them thru all phases of the new brand process, including: review and confirmation of environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices; contract review and approval; creative development; and reporting and analysis on consumer response to the new brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Source products and apparel that meet the company’s cradle-to-cradle design and corporate social responsibility principles
• Serve as a point person for brand and retailer inquiries regarding the company’s selection process
• Work with engineers to support the upload of new product content to the product catalog
• Participate in discussions within the company on developing innovative models to best expedite the sourcing process
• Provide editorial contributions to the company blog, social media, and press content
• Work closely with the Founder and strategic partners to highlight ethical and eco-friendly attributes of vetted products and apparel
• Raise the profile of new brands and strategic partners on our site and through the company’s procurement and promotion procedures
• Support a periodic, 360 degree feedback process where brands/ partners/retailers are able to comment anonymously on their relationships with Fashioning Change product sourcing team
• Keep up-to-date with the developments in the field of sustainable design, manufacturing processes, and textiles and communicate this information internally and externally
• Maintain awareness of the best practices in the ‘green’ and fair-trade market
• Draft status reports for executive leadership and the company’s advisory board
• Represent the company at eco design and sustainability events
• Build honest relationships with brands – establish clarity about the terms of the company’s brand relationships, provide honest feedback, and build trust so that challenges can be shared and tackled collaboratively
• Demonstrate and communicate commitment to have a positive impact on the companies that we work with

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of experience within the field of sustainability
• Experience buying/sourcing/production/ green textile technology/ ethical manufacturing or other relevant areas
• Knowledge of and experience with sustainability, preferably in manufacturing
• Understanding of green/ fair-trade certification systems and logistic processes
• Excellent communication skills, builder of bridges
• Excellent negotiating skills

JOB SUMMARY

Fashioning Change is looking for a bright, energetic User Acquisition Ace to develop an integrated communications plan aimed at acquiring users, utilizing multiple marketing channels. The successful candidate possesses a metrics-driven mindset, is extremely analytical, believes in habitual testing (A/B split/Multivariate) and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with CEO and CTO to establish overall marketing strategy and performance measurement
• Optimize marketing strategy performance across various inbound marketing mediums including SEO, email, media placements, blogging, online video, viral content, and partnerships
• Continually test marketing strategies as well as creative strategies
• Collaborate with designers to generate compelling creative that drives user engagement
• Plan, evaluate and manage analytics and funnel optimization programs to increase conversion, repeat visits, new users, viral distribution, and life time value
• Apply expertise in online, social, and game marketing to devise innovative and efficient marketing campaigns
• Meet aggressive user acquisition targets, show measured improvement in unique visitors, and effectiveness of user acquisition strategies
• Develop, execute, test and monitor effective marketing campaigns, promotions and channels to grow and diversify sources of traffic

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 - 5 years of hand-on marketing experience in a user acquisition focused role
• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, or similar (graduate degree a plus)
• Passion for the web and experience with social media, consumer web, virality, and e-commerce highly desired
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with a cross-functional team to drive results

JOB SUMMARY

Fashioning Change is looking for a “Builder of Bridges” to oversee Strategic Partner Development and secure national, and international, partnerships for the distribution of our applications. This person must have knowledge of, and/ or become exceptionally knowledgeable of, all relevant partnerships opportunities in the tech, e-commerce, social media, “green,” fashion, and non-profit industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute strategic partner business initiatives, develop work plans, lead analysis, and develop and communicate final recommendations
• Lead deals and present deals to CEO and cross-functional teams
• Build, launch, and maintain strategic relationships with partners
• Analyze and track key metrics to show conversions and growth from strategic relationships and proactively resolve business issues
• Represent Fashioning Change at industry events, which will include describing the benefits of working with Fashioning Change to users, partners, and the industry

REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS degree preferred with strong academic record (MBA/MS or other advanced degree is a plus)
• At least 3 years of related partner management experience in an Internet, search, or other relevant company
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
• Strong understanding of the Internet media space, search engines, online advertising players, and related business models
• Ability to interpret legal documents, negotiate contracts, and work with attorneys to complete agreements.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including comfort in front of a large audience
• Perform due diligence on potential partnership opportunities
